Where the coupe rounds curve continuously, the two-hundred series stands an upright rim at the edge: a short vertical wall instead of a sloped flange. On a seven and a half inch plate that wall does useful work, corralling olives, a few slices of bread, or a dressed side so nothing escapes when the plate is put down briskly. The upright edge also makes stacking more positive, since each plate seats into the one beneath it. One inch of total height on a round this size is very nearly all rim. Three dozen travel together, the fullest carton among the four rimmed rounds.
