Privacy policy

StorkScout is a product discovery site. You can browse the Weekly Edit, guides, and search without an account, and we keep it that way on purpose. This page describes everything we collect.

What we collect

• Search queries. A query is sent to StorkScout and Shopify to return live results. It is not attached to a shopper account or profile, although it can appear in short-lived technical server logs.
• Shopify attribution. Outbound product links can include parameters supplied by Shopify so Shopify can attribute an eligible purchase and pay StorkScout a commission. StorkScout does not route that click through its own tracking redirect.
• Voice and photo search. If you use voice or photo search, the audio clip or image is sent to an AI service to turn it into a text query, then discarded. We do not store your recordings or photos.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, retained briefly.

What we don't do

• No advertising trackers, no third-party ad cookies.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone.
• No accounts or profiles for shoppers, so there is nothing to breach.

Where purchases happen

StorkScout never handles checkout. Every purchase happens on the seller's own store, under that store's privacy policy. Read theirs before you buy; we have no access to your payment or shipping details.

Service providers

The site uses Lovable for hosting, Supabase for its database, Shopify Global Catalog for product discovery and attribution, and an AI processing service for optional voice and photo search. Each provider processes the data needed to deliver that feature under its own terms and privacy policy.

Children

StorkScout is for parents and gift-givers, not children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
