At 10-5/8" on the long axis this oval crosses the ten-inch line and is a platter, not a plate. It is the small serving oval of the pattern, the one that goes out with a fish fillet, a sliced chicken breast, a few pieces of toast, or a sandwich cut into halves with a pickle beside it.
Seven and a quarter inches across the waist keeps it narrow enough to fit a two-deck pass or a bus tub without turning sideways. The 1" wall contains a light sauce. It opens the Piscataway oval serving run, which continues at 11-3/4" and 13".
