A 7-1/4 inch coupe round, 3/4 of an inch deep, rimless like the others in the coupe line. The inch it gains over the 6-1/4 is the difference between a dessert portion and a proper salad or starter course.
Because there is no rim, a diner's cutlery has nowhere to sit, which is the trade-off for the clean face. Kitchens that run the coupe plates usually pair them with a rimmed round for courses where a knife has to be parked. A case holds thirty-six.
