Miele Guard S1 Vacuum Cleaner - Sunset Yellow

The Miele Guard S1 is the lightest, most compact canister vacuum Miele makes, built for homes with mostly hard floors and a few flat rugs. At 11 lbs you carry it anywhere with one hand, and it still brings a full 1200 watts of Miele suction in a sealed, bagged design finished in Sunset Yellow.

Most compact vacuums make you pay for the smaller size: weak suction, flimsy build, a dustbin that puffs dust back at you every time you empty it. The Guard S1 doesn't. You get the same 1200-watt motor as Miele's full-size machines, a sealed 3.5-litre bag you never have to touch the inside of, and quiet 78 dB operation, in a body light enough to live on a closet shelf.

Highlights

• 11 lbs and truly compact, the lightest model in the Miele lineup, easy to carry up stairs and simple to store
• 1200-watt motor with 4-stage rotary control, so you can dial suction from curtains and upholstery up to full power
• SBD355-3 combination floor tool switches between hard floors and flat rugs with a foot toggle, no changing heads
• Sealed bagged collection: a 3.5-litre HyClean Air TU bag with the ComfortFit seal and an AirClean exhaust filter, so dust stays in the machine
• 33-foot cleaning radius from a 21-foot cord, enough to cover a condo or apartment floor from one or two outlets
• Three accessory tools (dusting brush, crevice tool, upholstery nozzle) on the VarioClip holder, plus a rear parking system for tidy storage

Who it's for

• Condos, apartments, and smaller homes with mostly hard floors and flat rugs
• Anyone who finds a full-size vacuum too heavy to haul around or too bulky to store
• Buyers who want real Miele suction and build quality in the smallest package Miele offers

Wall-to-wall carpet, deeper pile, or a shedding pet? This model doesn't include a dedicated carpet tool, so it isn't the right match for carpet-heavy or pet-heavy homes. Call or visit our showroom and we'll make sure you're buying the right machine for your floors.

FAQs

• How heavy is it really?
11 lbs without accessories, which makes it the lightest vacuum Miele currently makes. It's easy to carry between floors with one hand and small enough to store in a closet.
• Does it work on carpets and rugs?
On looped carpets and thin, flat rugs, yes: flip the combination floor tool's pedal to the rug setting. It doesn't include a dedicated carpet tool, so it's not suited to medium or deep pile.
• Can it handle pet hair?
Low amounts. It handles hair from a low-shedding pet on bare floors and flat rugs, but heavy shedding or hair worked into carpet calls for a machine with a dedicated carpet tool.
• What bags does it use?
It uses 3.5-litre Miele HyClean Air TU dustbags with the ComfortFit seal, so every bag change is sealed and hygienic, paired with an AirClean exhaust filter.
• Is Vacuum Warehouse an authorized Miele dealer?
Yes. We are an authorized Miele dealer and an authorized Miele service and warranty centre, so your warranty is honoured in Canada.
• What's the warranty?
5 years on parts and labour, and 7 years on the motor.
