Miele Guard M1 Vacuum Cleaner – Terra Red

The Miele Guard M1 is a full-size German-built bagged canister vacuum for homes with mostly hard floors and flat rugs. You get Miele's 1200-watt suction, sealed AirClean filtration, and a machine tested to the equivalent of 20 years of average use, in a simple, lightweight design finished in Terra Red.

Most vacuums at this price are bagless, plasticky, and losing suction within a couple of years, and every emptying sends a cloud of dust right back at you. The Guard M1 takes the opposite approach: a sealed 4.5-litre bag, a filter that captures 99.99% of fine dust, and Miele build quality tested through 750 hours of use.

Highlights

• 1200-watt motor with 4-stage mode control, so you can dial power from curtains and upholstery down low up to full suction for hard floors
• SBD365-3 combination floorhead switches between bare floors and rugs with a foot toggle, and the bristles-out setting keeps hardwood safe from scratches
• AirClean filtration captures 99.99% of fine dust (tested to IEC 62885-2:2021), with the ComfortFit system for hygienic, sealed bag changes
• Large 4.5-litre HyClean Air CO bag, so you change bags less often and never touch the dirt
• 36-foot operating radius with automatic cord rewind, so you can do a whole floor from one outlet
• Three onboard tools (dusting brush, crevice tool, upholstery nozzle) stored in a built-in compartment where they can't get lost
• 13 lbs and made in Germany, a full-size canister that's still easy to carry between floors

Who it's for

• Homes with mostly hardwood, tile, or laminate, plus flat area rugs
• Anyone replacing a bagless vacuum that lost its suction and wants a sealed, hygienic bagged machine
• Buyers who want Miele durability and power without paying for carpet features they won't use

Wall-to-wall carpet, deeper pile, or a heavy-shedding pet? This model doesn't include a dedicated carpet tool, so it isn't the right match for carpet-heavy homes. Call or visit our showroom and we'll make sure you're buying the right machine for your floors.

FAQs

• Is it safe on hardwood floors?
Yes. The SBD365-3 combination floorhead has a foot pedal that extends soft bristles for bare floors, so it glides over hardwood, tile, and laminate without scratching.
• Does it work on carpets and rugs?
On looped carpets and thin, flat rugs, yes: flip the floorhead's pedal to the rug setting. It doesn't include a dedicated carpet tool, so it's not suited to medium or deep pile.
• Can it handle pet hair?
Low amounts. It picks up hair from a low-shedding pet well on bare floors and flat rugs, but heavy shedders and hair worked into carpet call for a machine with an electric carpet tool.
• What bags does it use?
It uses 4.5-litre Miele HyClean Air CO dustbags. The large capacity means fewer changes, and the ComfortFit system makes every bag change sealed and hygienic.
• Is Vacuum Warehouse an authorized Miele dealer?
Yes. We are an authorized Miele dealer and an authorized Miele service and warranty centre, so your warranty is honoured in Canada.
• What's the warranty?
5 years on parts and labour, and 7 years on the motor.
