Six and a half inches wide and a full three inches deep, holding twenty-eight ounces. Three inches of wall on a bowl this size is a lot, and it is what separates a noodle bowl from a cereal bowl of similar width: broth sits deep enough to keep noodles submerged and hot through a slow eater's bowl, and there is freeboard left for a lid or a resting pair of chopsticks.

Curiously it carries two more ounces than the seven-inch ramen bowl above it, because the extra quarter inch of depth here outweighs that bowl's half inch of width — worth knowing when portions are costed by volume rather than by diameter. The white interior lets a clear dashi or a pale tonkotsu read as the colour it actually is, which is hard to judge in a dark bowl.
