About this product
A deep oval platter, 11-3/4 inches by 7 inches, with a 1-7/8 inch wall. The depth is the whole point: this holds something wet. This platter takes a braise, a stew with its liquor, roasted vegetables that have thrown juice, a whole fish with the pan sauce poured over.
A flat platter of the same footprint would have that liquid at the rim before the dish was carried out. Against the 13-3/4 deep oval it is two inches shorter and a quarter inch shallower, so it suits a two or three portion serving where the larger one is for the table. Twelve to the case. Speckled blue chinaware, dishwasher and microwave safe, and it will sit in a warming cabinet without crazing.
