About this product

Bradco / Paladin built
Drum mulcher
28–60 GPM depending on model

Overview

This Bradco excavator mulcher attachment — the Series II MM36E / MM42E — is a drum mulcher for excavators in the 14–21 tonne class, cutting at 36" and 42" cutting widths and requiring 28–60 GPM depending on model. It mounts on a quick attach coupler. Bradco builds mulchers on two axes — the carrier they hang from, and whether the cutting head is a drum or a disc — and those two choices decide almost everything else.

Key Features of the Bradco Excavator Mulcher Attachment

  • Sized by carrier weight class — built for excavators in the 14 to 21 tonne range, not by loader flow alone.
  • Mulches hardwood trees up to 12" in diameter at a 42" cutting width.
  • Patented tooth with a cross bar the full width of the tooth, which helps hold cutting depth.
  • Variable displacement piston motor for better performance optimisation across the flow range.
  • Replaceable AR400 abrasion resistant wear plates.
  • Four model and flow combinations — an excavator drum mulcher matched to the machine rather than a single specification.
  • A forestry mulcher attachment sized by machine weight, which is the correct way to specify an excavator head.
  • An excavator brush mulcher for reach work — slopes, ditches and selective clearing a loader cannot get to.

Why Choose This Excavator Mulcher Attachment

  • Reach is the reason. An excavator mulcher works slopes, ditches and selective clearing that a loader-mounted head simply cannot get to.
  • Carrier weight class is a real constraint, not a suggestion. Hanging a 42" mulcher on an undersized excavator is a stability problem before it is a performance one.
  • The 42 inch mulcher and the 36 inch differ in more than width — each is offered in two flow bands, so the head is matched to the machine's hydraulics as well as its size.

Which Bradco Mulcher Do You Need?

Bradco builds three mulchers. The first question is what carries it; the second is whether the cutting head is a drum or a disc.

Model Carrier Cutter Cutting width Flow / pressure Series II MM72 Skid steer Drum 60" and 72" 3,500–5,000 psi (S) or 4,500–5,800 psi (H) Series II MM36E / MM42E Excavator, 14–21 tonne class Drum 36" and 42" 28–60 GPM by model FD60 Disc Mulcher Skid steer Disc 75.74" overall 30–45 GPM, 3,300 psi minimum

For skid steer carriers, the Series II MM72 skid steer mulcher cuts at 60" and 72". For felling standing timber from a loader, the FD60 Disc Mulcher fells to 14".

Which Machines Fit This Excavator Mulcher Attachment?

This mulcher mounts on an excavator quick coupler and is specified by carrier weight class, 14 to 21 tonnes, as well as by flow. That weight class is the first check — it governs stability with the head at full reach.

Confirm your machine's auxiliary flow and pressure before ordering — on a mulcher these are the specifications that decide whether the head reaches working speed. If you are unsure, contact eskidsteer.com at (866) 757-8337.

Series II MM36E / MM42E Questions, Answered

Will this fit my excavator?

It is specified for the 14 to 21 tonne carrier weight class. Below that range the attachment is too heavy for safe operation; check your machine weight before ordering.

What is the difference between the MM421E and MM422E?

Flow. Both are 42 inch heads: the MM421E is specified for 29-39 GPM and the MM422E for 40-52 GPM. Match the model to your excavator auxiliary flow.

Can this go on a skid steer?

No. It is built for an excavator quick coupler and sized by excavator weight class. The Series II MM72 is the skid steer version.

What is the difference between a drum mulcher and a disc mulcher?

A drum mulcher carries teeth around a rotating drum and processes material progressively. A disc mulcher uses a heavy horizontal disc and is built to fell standing timber quickly. Bradco offers both.

What flow does it need?

28–60 GPM depending on model. On a mulcher, pressure matters as much as flow — an undersupplied head will turn but will not process material.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is calculated at checkout — simply add the item to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the shipping charge will be displayed before you complete your order.
