About this product
Overview
This Bradco skid steer construction bucket is the general-purpose bucket in the range — 75", 80" and 84" wide, holding 0.75, 0.9 and 1 cubic yard, at 710 to 850 lbs. It carries a 1" cutting edge with back drag plating, and bolt-on side cutters are included as standard rather than sold separately. It fits a standard skid steer quick attach.
Key Features of the Bradco Skid Steer Construction Bucket
- Bolt-on side cutters included standard — not an option you discover you needed later.
- 1" cutting edge with back drag plating, so the bucket can be dragged backwards to level without damage.
- Capacities 0.75, 0.9 and 1.0 cubic yard across the three widths.
- Height 25", depth 38" — a shell shaped for digging and carrying rather than for reach.
- Optional bolt-on wear edge for abrasive material.
- A skid steer dirt bucket in the plainest sense — the general purpose bucket you fit when the job is simply moving material.
- A bolt on cutting edge bucket, so the wear surface is replaceable rather than welded in place.
- The 84 inch bucket is the largest here at 1 cubic yard; a construction bucket for skid steer work is normally the first skid steer loader bucket bought.
Why Choose This Skid Steer Construction Bucket
- Back drag plating is the detail that matters. Levelling by dragging the bucket backwards destroys a shell not built for it; the plating is what makes that routine.
- Side cutters included changes the arithmetic. On many buckets these are an extra; here they are standard, which is worth counting when comparing prices.
- Capacity, not width, is the number to compare. A wider bucket with a shallower shell can hold less than a narrower deep one.

Bradco builds seven bucket types. They are not grades of one bucket — each is built for a different material or a different problem, so the question is what you are moving rather than how heavy-duty you need.
Bucket What it is for Distinguishing spec Construction General digging and loading 0.75–1 yd capacity, bolt-on side cutters standard Low Profile Visibility to the cutting edge Standard or long floor Rock Separating rock from soil 2" or 3" tine spacing Light Material High-volume light material Min 400 Brinell wear areas, three carrier types High-Dump Dumping over a high side 1,000–1,359 lb, powered dump 4-in-1 Six tools in one shell Clam, grapple, dozer, box scraper, bottom dump Mini Mini loaders Toro/Dingo, ASV, Bobcat MT mountsFor separating rock from soil rather than carrying both, the rock bucket uses 2" or 3" tines. For light bulky material where volume matters more than weight, the light material bucket has a larger shell. For better visibility to the cutting edge, the low profile bucket sits lower.
Which Machines Fit This Skid Steer Construction Bucket?
This bucket fits a standard skid steer quick attach and needs no hydraulics. The constraint is capacity: the bucket weighs 645–850 lbs empty, and a full yard of wet soil is roughly 645–850 lbs on top of that. Compare the total against your loader's rated operating capacity, not just the bucket weight.

Construction Bucket Questions, Answered
What capacity should I choose?
0.75, 0.9 or 1.0 cubic yard, matching the 75, 80 and 84 inch widths. Match capacity to what your loader lifts when the bucket is full, not to the widest you can fit.
Are side cutters included?
Yes, bolt-on side cutters are included as standard on this bucket. An optional bolt-on wear edge is available separately for abrasive material.
What is back drag plating for?
It lets you level ground by dragging the bucket backwards without damaging the shell. Without it, back-dragging wears a bucket quickly.
Is this the right bucket for rock?
No. For separating rock from soil, the rock bucket with 2 or 3 inch tine spacing is the correct tool. This is a solid-shell general purpose bucket.
Is a skid steer bucket attachment sized by width or capacity?
Both, but capacity is what limits you. Match the full-bucket weight against your loader rating rather than choosing the widest shell that fits.
How much does a full bucket actually weigh?
Depends entirely on the material. Dry sand runs roughly 2,700 lbs per cubic yard and wet soil more; a full 1 yard bucket can therefore weigh more than three times the empty bucket. That total is what your loader has to lift.
When should I add the optional wear edge?
When the material is abrasive — gravel, crushed stone, demolition debris. The bolt-on wear edge takes that wear instead of the bucket lip, and replacing it is far cheaper than replacing the shell.
