Picard 252/54 Single Face Planishing Hammer - Flat Face
The Picard 252/54 is a single face planishing hammer with a flat, smooth 47 x 29 mm rectangular face. It weighs 330 g (12 oz) with its 300 mm handle.
A large flat face covers a lot of panel per blow and will not leave the small crescent marks of a round face, which suits planishing flat and gently crowned panels such as door skins, roofs and hoods.
The head is Picard alloyed special steel, hardened and tempered, and finished in Picard's blue hammertone enamel. It sits on a dual-curved hickory handle with an octagonal grip, fixed to the head with Picard's ring wedge. Picard has made hammers in Germany since 1857.
