Picard 252/54 1/2 Single Face Planishing Hammer - Arched Face
The Picard 252/54 1/2 is a single face planishing hammer with a 47 x 29 mm face that is arched toe to heel and flat side to side. It weighs 300 g (11 oz) with its 300 mm handle.
The arch lets you work into gentle concave and reverse curves without digging in the ends of the face, while staying flat across its width so it still lays a long, even blow along a curve.
The head is Picard alloyed special steel, hardened and tempered, and finished in Picard's blue hammertone enamel. It sits on a dual-curved hickory handle with an octagonal grip, fixed to the head with Picard's ring wedge. Picard has made hammers in Germany since 1857.
