Mittler Bros. 2200-HSK 10 Ton Hydraulic Press for Punching Spring Steel
The Mittler Bros. 2200-HSK is a compact 10 ton hydraulic press that arrives set up to punch a 9/32" hole in spring steel strip. The punch and die are heat treated, and a built-in guide holds 1/16" x 1" wide material square under the punch.
Spring steel is hard on drill bits and slow to drill accurately. Punching it is faster and leaves a clean hole in the same place every time, which matters when you are making the same part in quantity. Mittler offers other punch and die sizes for the press.
The frame is 3/8" plate with a 3-3/4" throat and a 2" stroke. A hydraulic pump is needed and is sold separately: Mittler's air hydraulic pump runs off shop air, or use the electric hydraulic pump. The press ships at 60 lb in an 8" x 5" x 15" box.
