1994.5–1997 7.3L Irate Diesel Performance T4 Intercooler By-Pass Turbo Mount Ford 7.3L Powerstroke OBS PN: OBSCMS-BP
The factory GTP38 and its pedestal were never designed for serious horsepower. If your OBS 7.3L is making more fuel than the stock or aftermarket drop-in style turbo can handle, high EGTs, overspooling and a hard performance ceiling come with the territory. Use this bypass tube kit if you are not wanting to install or run an intercooler. The Irate Diesel Performance T4 intercooler by-pass turbo mount fixes that at the foundation by converting your truck to a true T4-flange turbo setup.
With a T4 mount in place, you open the door to dozens of turbocharger options, including BorgWarner S300 and S400 frame turbos and Garrett GT42/GTX42-based units. That means you can size a turbo to fit your actual build, whether it’s a hard-working tow rig that needs cooler EGTs under load or a high-horsepower street and strip truck.

Why choose the By-Pass Mount?
The by-pass mount is for builders who do not want to install an intercooler. We will always recommend an intercooler especially if you are towing heavy but this kit will work great for the average OBS daily driver that wants something better than a “drop in” but does not want to do a full intercooler install at this time. If you are wanting to add an intercooler at a later time, you can buy the intercooler, a bracket kit, boots, and the intercooler pipes.
