The factory GTP38 and its pedestal were never designed for serious horsepower. If your OBS 7.3L is making more fuel than the stock or aftermarket drop-in style turbo can handle, high EGTs, overspooling and a hard performance ceiling come with the territory. The Irate Diesel Performance T4 intercooler turbo mount fixes that at the foundation by converting your truck to a true T4-flange turbo setup.
With a T4 mount in place, you open the door to dozens of turbocharger options, including BorgWarner S300 and S400 frame turbos and Garrett GT42/GTX42-based units. That means you can size a turbo to fit your actual build, whether it’s a hard-working tow rig that needs cooler EGTs under load or a high-horsepower street and strip truck.

Does this kit come with a turbo?
No. It is a mounting system only. You supply your own S300, S400 or GT42-style turbo. -
Can I run it without an intercooler?
Yes. A no-intercooler option replaces the intercooler pipes with a direct connection to the intake Y. An intercooler is still recommended for heavy towing. -
Why is an electric fuel system required?
The T4 kit’s oil drain routing requires the factory mechanical fuel system to be removed on 94-97 trucks.
Note: Intended for off-road / competition use. Not legal for sale or use in California. Check your local emissions laws before installing. We will always recommend an intercooler especially if you are towing heavy, but this kit will work great for the average OBS daily driver that wants something better than a “drop in” but does not want to do a full intercooler install at this time. Later if you are wanting an intercooler, you can just buy the Intercooler itself, a bracket kit, boots and the intercooler pipes.
