About this product
Overview
With 5,013 ft-lbs and a 30 inch ceiling in clay, the 6DDT two-speed high flow skid steer auger attachment sits in the middle of Digga's shifting range and costs about thirty dollars more at list than the 5DDT. On this page it comes three ways: Drive Only if you already have a frame, on the Universal Quick Attach Frame Package with 7 ft hoses and flush-face disconnects, or on the Extension Frame (TPE) Package, Digga's telescopic piling and drilling extension.
Key Features of the Digga 6DDT 2 Speed Skid Steer Auger Package
- Torque 5,013 ft-lbs at 3,000 PSI and 5,837 ft-lbs at 3,500 PSI, as published by Digga for the 6DDT
- Recommended flow 10-36 GPM, with 10 GPM the floor for rated torque
- 2.5 inch hex output shaft taking A6 earth auger bits, RC6 rock and earth combo bits and DR6 dedicated rock augers
- Drills to 40 inches in earth and 30 inches in clay or shale, subject to ground conditions
- Digga gearbox with an integrated pressure relief valve, so no external valve block and fewer joints to leak
- The gearbox follows the bit down the hole, so drive height is not lost from drilling depth
- HALO Alignment Kit optional — HALO built into the drive hood at the factory, reading plumb to ±0.25 degrees per Digga
- Shifts between high torque and high speed under load, without stopping or lifting out
- Case drain hose included; the machine needs the low-pressure return line
- 10 ft powerlead with a 2-pin connector fitted for the shift solenoid
- 5 year gearbox and 3 year motor warranty for drilling use, plus lifetime shaft pull-out cover
Digga 6DDT Specifications
Figures as published by Digga for the 6DDT. Maximum drilling diameter depends on ground conditions and is a guide rather than a rating.
Choosing How the 6DDT Mounts
The TPE is engineered for drives up to 16,000 ft-lbs, so the 6DDT sits well inside it. One thing to plan for: a drive working 12-14 ft down needs more hose than the 7 ft set, and Digga's TPE hose kits come in 14 ft and 16 ft for exactly that. Tell us if the package is for TPE work and we will confirm hose length with the order.
HALO Alignment Kit
Every 6DDT on this page — both frame options and Drive Only — can be taken with No HALO or with the HALO Alignment Kit. Despite the name it is not a bolt-on: choosing it supplies the 6DDT with HALO built into the drive hood at the factory, with the extension cable and in-cab 12V plug. A ring of green lights means plumb; red and green guide the operator back when the drive drifts. On a one-person crew it replaces the spotter at the hole.
What Comes in the 6DDT Skid Steer Package
- Digga 6DDT auger drive
- Universal skid steer frame and 75mm linkage, or the TPE extension frame, unless you choose Drive Only
- 7 ft hoses with flush-face quick disconnects on the frame package
- Case drain hose, required on every two-speed drive
- 10 ft powerlead with a 2-pin connector for the shift solenoid
- HALO where the HALO Alignment Kit is selected
- Not included: auger bits, and the Plug N Play Controller Kit needed to shift the drive from the cab
Where the 6DDT Sits in Digga's High Flow Range
Against the 5DDT, the 6DDT adds 23 percent more turning force and lifts the clay and shale ceiling from 24 to 30 inches, from the same minimum flow. The 7DDT above it is another 26 percent up, reaching 48 inches in earth against 40. The 6DDS is the single-speed version of the same size at 4,911 ft-lbs, without the shift, the case drain or the controller, and for considerably less. Max speed is 100 RPM, against 67 on the 6DDS.
Which Loaders Fit the 6DDT?
The 6DDT package mounts on the universal skid steer quick attach plate, so fitment is decided by hydraulics rather than brand. The 6DDT needs a high flow auxiliary circuit and at least 10 GPM to reach the torque above.

Drilling or anchoring? Digga warrants this drive for 5 years on the gearbox and 3 on the motor when it is used for drilling. Used for screw anchoring without Digga's Energy Control Valve, warranty drops to 2 years on the gearbox and 1 on the motor, and covers anchoring only up to 12,000 ft-lbs. The ECV has to be specified with the drive rather than added later, so tell us before ordering if anchoring is the job.
Digga 6DDT 2 Speed Skid Steer Package Questions, Answered
Is my loader high flow enough for the 6DDT?
High flow is an option on most loaders rather than standard, and the machine badge or operator manual gives the auxiliary flow in GPM. The 6DDT needs 10 GPM to reach its rated torque and uses up to 36 GPM. A standard-flow machine will turn the drive but will not produce the figures in the table.
What does the TPE frame actually do?
It replaces the fixed frame with a telescopic extension, so the drive travels down past machine reach. Digga states it extends to 12 to 14 feet of ground clearance, which is how a deep hole gets drilled without stacking bit extensions and losing alignment.
Does the 6DDT need a case drain?
Yes. A two-speed motor releases internal case pressure as it shifts, and without a dedicated low-pressure return to tank that pressure builds against the shaft seal until it fails. Digga supplies the hose; your machine needs the return line. The cab controller is separate — see the Plug N Play Controller Kit.
Can I buy the 6DDT without a frame?
Yes — that is the Drive Only choice, and it is the first option on this page. It suits anyone replacing a worn drive on a frame they already own. Check the linkage on your frame is the 75mm size before ordering; the Auger Drive Mount Linkages listing has it if not.
Which auger bits should I order?
All three Digga families for the 2.5 inch hex shaft fit: A6 earth auger bits for general earth and clay, RC6 rock and earth combo bits where the ground is mixed, and DR6 dedicated rock augers for fracturable rock. The 6DDT is rated to 40 inches in earth and 30 inches in clay or shale.
Is the HALO Alignment Kit worth adding?
It replaces the second person standing at the hole calling the auger straight. On a one-person crew, or where holes are inspected for plumb, it pays for itself quickly. On occasional fence work with a spotter already on site it is optional.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping is calculated at checkout from the weight of your order and your delivery address, and the charge is shown before you complete the order. These packages ship by LTL freight on a pallet.
On delivery: inspect the crate before you sign. Note any damage on the bill of lading at the time of delivery, photograph it, and email support@eskidsteer.com — a clean signature makes a carrier claim much harder to win.
