About this product
A bolt-on steel guard with an HDPE slide that protects the rear lower link frame mounts on the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco, 2-door and 4-door. It covers the mount on both sides of the truck and gives obstacles a smooth ramp to slide over instead of a hard edge to catch on.
The rear lower link mount hangs below the frame, right where rocks, ledges and logs hit when the rear of the truck drops off something. Crush or tear that mount and the axle is no longer located where it should be. This guard takes the hit for it.
What Is In The Kit

Why Guard The Lower Link Mount
The factory lower link mount is a bracket with an exposed leading edge. On a rock or a ledge, that edge is what catches: the truck stops, the load goes straight into the bracket, and the mount takes damage it was never meant to carry.
The FMI guard bolts over the mount and improves the approach angle to it, so the truck rides up and over an obstacle instead of hanging up on it. Less hang-up means less load into the frame and the link mount, and less chance of getting stuck on the trail.
How It Is Built
The guard
Made from 3/16" steel plate and MIG welded for strength. It bolts to the existing lower link mount on the frame.
The HDPE slide
The bottom angle of the guard is covered with high density polyethylene (HDPE). The slippery plastic is designed to slide over rock more easily, reducing the resistance and drag you would otherwise get from bare steel dragging across the rock.
Fitment
Fits the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco, both 2-door and 4-door, all models including the Badlands.
Does not fit the Bronco Raptor. We make a separate version for that truck: the Bronco Raptor rear lower arm frame guard with HDPE slide.
Aftermarket fuel tank skid plates: this guard may not work with some aftermarket gas tank skid plate kits, depending on how they mount to the frame on the passenger side. We do not have a list of which kits it will and will not work with.
Installation
Bolt-on. The guards mount to the existing lower link mount on the frame with the hardware kit in the box. No modifications and no drilling.
Questions
Does this fit both the 2-door and 4-door Bronco?
Yes. It works on 2-door and 4-door Broncos, all models including the Badlands.
Will it fit my Bronco Raptor?
No. The Bronco Raptor needs its own version, linked in the Fitment panel above.
What is the HDPE slide for?
Steel grabs on rock. The HDPE skin on the bottom angle of the guard is slippery, so the truck slides across an obstacle with less drag instead of grinding steel against it.
Do I have to drill or modify anything?
No. It bolts to the existing lower link mount on the frame.
Will it work with my aftermarket fuel tank skid plate?
It may not, depending on how that skid plate mounts to the frame on the passenger side. We do not have a full list of which kits are compatible.
Does it cover both sides?
Yes. The kit includes a driver side and a passenger side guard, plus the mounting hardware.
