A race-inspired rear differential skid plate for the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco that covers and supports the bottom of the rear diff cover. One kit works with either the stock sheet metal rear cover or the Ford Performance cast rear cover, part number M-4033-R.
The seal along the bottom of the rear diff cover has long been a weak point on off-road vehicles. This plate keeps rocks from catching the lower edge of the cover and pulling the gasket seal loose.
Why Protect The Rear Diff Cover
The rear differential hangs low under the back of the Bronco, and the cover bolted to the back of it sits right where rocks and ledges hit. When the lower edge of the cover catches on something, the force pries the cover away from the housing and breaks the gasket seal. Once the seal lets go, gear oil follows.
This skid plate covers the bottom of the cover and supports the lower back plate, so a rock that would have hooked the edge slides off the plate instead.
Fitment
Fits the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco.
Works with:
- Stock smooth sheet metal rear diff covers
- Ford Performance cast rear diff cover, part number M-4033-R only
Will not work with other aftermarket diff covers. If you run a different cover and would like us to look into covering it, contact us.

What does this skid plate protect?
The rear differential cover, and in particular the gasket seal along its bottom edge. The plate covers and supports the lower back plate so rocks cannot catch it and pull the seal loose.
Do I need a different kit for the Ford Performance cover?
No. One kit is designed to work with both the stock rear cover and the Ford Performance cast cover, part number M-4033-R.
Will it fit my other aftermarket diff cover?
No. It will not work with aftermarket covers other than the Ford Performance M-4033-R. Contact us if you have something else and would like us to look into covering it.
