Four and three-quarter inches across and half an inch deep, the WL-104 is a bread and butter plate cut for one roll, a pat of butter, or the little accompaniment that would otherwise crowd a dinner plate. The wood-grain moulding carries right out to the rim, so even a disc this small reads as a slice of timber instead of a blank circle.

Melamine holds that grain permanently. It will not raise, split or go grey in a commercial wash cycle the way a genuine wooden coaster does, and it will not absorb butter or oil. Four dozen to a case covers a full dining room, a bar snack service, or duty as an underliner beneath a ramekin.
