A 6-inch round with a short upright rim, the ST-106 is a dessert plate sized for a cake slice, a pastry course, bread service or a pair of amuse-bouche. The rim stands three quarters of an inch, enough to stop a sauce or a scoop of sorbet running to the edge.
It opens the Stone Art round run two inches under the 8-inch ST-108, so a sweet course reads as its own setting rather than a half-filled salad plate. The speckled gray surface photographs as fired stoneware but weighs a fraction of it, and the melamine body takes repeated trips through a commercial rack without chipping along the rim where ceramic gives out.
