Seven and a half inches of rimmed round, the salad-course plate in Paris. It is wide enough to let dressed leaves spread rather than pile, which keeps a salad looking composed instead of heaped, and small enough to sit beside a dinner plate on a laid cover without crowding the glassware.
The rim is the working part. A flange of this width gives the diner a border to grip and the server a place to carry, and it frames a plated starter the way a mount frames a print. Paris runs its ring detail across that flange. Beside the PA-707 coupe of the same diameter, this one trades usable surface for that border, so a kitchen choosing between the two is really choosing whether the food should be framed or should run to the edge. Chinaware construction, rated for dishwasher and for microwave use.
