The NR-22 rounds out Normandy's salad plates at 8-3/8" across, a little over an inch wider than the NR-7. That puts it in lunch plate territory: a club sandwich with chips, a short stack, an omelette with a side. Diners and cafeterias often run it as the standard midday cover and keep the 9" rounds back for dinner service, which spreads wear across two sizes instead of one.
Its 3/4" depth matches the smaller salad plates, so the whole group nests in one rack without a separate stack height. Thirty-six to the case reflects how hard a lunch plate works compared with the dinner rounds, which ship two dozen.
