The MO-410 is a 10-1/2" x 9" dessert plate with a 2" well holding 10 oz. Yanco protects the dessert name across its range, so this stays a plate at this width rather than being recast as a server: it is set in front of one person, and the shallow well is there to stop a sauce or a scoop from travelling.
That geometry suits a plated dessert with a coulis, a cheesecake slice with cream, poached fruit in syrup, or a savoury course built around a pool of sauce. The field around the well leaves room for a tuile, a dusting or a garnish line without crowding the centre, and matte white melamine gives a pastry section a clean ground to work on.
