Lyon runs a second plate family alongside the trapezoids: plain coupe rounds with no rim shelf at all. The LY-1107 is the salad plate in that family, seven and a quarter inches across with a three-quarter-inch sweep from centre to lip.
Because the curve is continuous, food sits in the middle of an unbroken field rather than inside a ring, which suits a small composed salad or a cheese course where the china should recede. This salad plate shares its diameter with the trapezoid LY-107 but is three-eighths of an inch shallower, so the two shapes stack in separate columns rather than nesting.
