Eleven and a quarter inches gives the LE-111 presentation width: a composed plate can sit well inside the edge with glaze showing all round it, which is how a reactive finish is meant to be seen.

It rises just 7/8 of an inch, less than the 10-1/4 inch LE-110 at a full inch, so it is flatter as well as wider — better suited to dry plating than to anything with a loose sauce. Where there is liquid on the plate, the LE-110 or the 10-1/4 inch LE-410 soup and pasta plate is the better call. Twelve pieces make up the case, and the plate is safe in both the dishwasher and the microwave.
