The DI-312 is the large round dinner plate of the range, twelve inches across and two inches wider than the ten inch cover, with a wall of one and one eighth inches.
The extra diameter is rim rather than well, which is exactly what a composed tasting plate or a steak-and-sides presentation wants — negative space framing the food. It doubles as a shared-plate base for the centre of a table, or as an underliner for the triangle bowls in the same pattern. A dozen to the carton reflects the space this diameter occupies on a storage shelf.
