It carries a standard protein, starch and vegetable plate-up without the food reaching the rim, and the characteristic thick edge gives a server somewhere cool to take hold when the plate comes off a heat lamp. The round face also sits correctly on a charger or a round underliner. Cartons of two dozen keep a par level easy to count against a covers forecast.
