Ten by six and a quarter inches, an inch and a half deep. Ten inches on the long edge keeps it in plate territory rather than platter territory, while the generous well gives it more working volume than either of the shorter deep rectangles.

Sixty-two square inches of floor with an inch and a half of wall is a lot of capacity for a plate — enough for a full noodle portion, a rice-and-curry main, or a shared appetizer with sauce.
