Rectangular proportions suit a plate that has to hold a long item flat — a fillet, a pair of skewers, a sandwich cut on the bias. Seventy square inches is roughly what a 9" round gives, but laid out in a shape that lines up neatly on a rail or in a chilled case. Four dozen to a case, which is a plating-station pack rather than a serveware pack. The matte black body is melamine throughout, dishwasher safe, with no glaze to craze along the straight edge.
