Depth is one inch, enough wall to catch a running sauce and low enough to eat from comfortably. Yanco's melamine body takes stacking abuse and dishwasher heat without softening or yellowing, which is how lesser plastic plateware tends to fail. A teal rim also makes the plate easy to pick out of a mixed stack during a busy turnaround.
