Tall and narrow at 3 inches across but 4-1/2 inches high, the AC-12-D takes twelve ounces in a column rather than a bowl. The proportion is deliberate: less surface area at the top means slower heat loss, so a refill lasts through a longer sitting.
Diner and hotel breakfast service is where this shape earns its keep, since it fits under most airpot and brewer spouts without tilting. It is the odd one out among the Abco mugs, where the Prime bodies are squatter and wider for the same volume. The narrow base does mean it wants a flat surface rather than a tray edge.
