i-FORCE Gas Engine Only: This skid plate is for i-FORCE (gas engine) applications only. It does not fit i-FORCE MAX (hybrid). Please shop i-FORCE MAX here.
Tacoma, LC250, 4Runner & GX550 Owners: Please refer to the image below for instructions on how to place the Insert Nut into the chassis.
TRD Front Skid Plate Compatibility: This skid plate can be installed with the TRD engine plate if you use longer M8x1.25 bolts in the rear of the TRD skid plate with at least 7mm tall spacers, or washers stacked the equivalent size.
Transmission: Compatible with both manual and automatic transmission.
Lexus GX550 Owners: This RIVAL 1/4-inch thick stamped aluminum catalytic converter skid plate is a great choice to protect your catalytic converter from theft, since the Overtrail factory guard provides no coverage of the catalytic converter and is made from thinner 5/32-inch material. Please note that this RIVAL Aluminum Skid Plate cannot be installed with the factory Lexus engine cover — it was designed to work with the RIVAL 1/4-inch thick stamped aluminum engine skid plate for maximum protection.
Tap Recommendation: It’s good practice to use a tap on all included hardware and bracketry, or run the bolts into the nut plates a few times before installation to ensure ease of final assembly. We use zinc flake coating on all fasteners, and there may be some residual coating left in the threads.
