About this product
Overview
The TTD-3 is the double-tungsten outer auger teeth position on Digga RC4 combination bits, and the “double” is the point: two tungsten faces rather than one, fitted to the outer positions where an RC4 does its widest and hardest cutting. It is a taper tooth rather than a flat blade, which is what lets the RC4 rip fracturable rock that an A4 with bladed teeth cannot touch.
Key Features of the Digga TTD-3
- Part number TTD-3 — on a wear part the number is the fitment, and there is no size to choose
- Part number: TTD-3
- Position: Outer pocket
- Tooth type: Double tungsten taper tooth
- Fits: Digga RC4 combination auger bits
- Double tungsten on the outer positions — the RC4’s hardest-working teeth get the most carbide.
- Taper profile, not a flat blade — it penetrates rather than scrapes, which is what handles fracturable rock.
- Paired with TTS-3 single taper inners, which is how Digga balances breakout against wear.
- Direct replacement in the RC4 pocket.
- Made in Dyersville, Iowa.
Why Replace Outer Teeth Rather Than the Whole RC4 Bit
- Taper teeth fail differently from bladed ones — they lose the point rather than rounding an edge, and a blunted point stops penetrating rock long before it stops cutting soil.
- An RC4 with worn outers reverts to behaving like an earth auger, which is not what you bought it for.
- Check them after rock work specifically, not on a time interval.
Digga TTD-3 Specifications
The TTD-3 and the part numbers beside it are taken from Digga’s published price list. Teeth and pilots are consumable by design — replacing them on time is what keeps the auger tube, flights and hub in service.

What Does the TTD-3 Fit?
Note your auger bit model at checkout and we confirm the TTD-3 is the right profile for it before the order ships.
What to Order Alongside the TTD-3
- The other RC4 positions — a head running a fresh TTD-3 against worn teeth elsewhere wears unevenly and cuts on two planes.
- TruLoc retaining pins (WP-000271) where the tooth is pin-retained — pins are what gets lost during a field change.
- A spare set for the truck — teeth are low-cost consumables, and a set on board turns a failed hole into a ten-minute job.
Digga TTD-3 Questions, Answered
Why does the RC4 use double tungsten on the outside and single on the inside?
Load distribution. The outer teeth cut the full diameter and meet the most material, so they carry two tungsten faces. The inner taper teeth need breakout force more than wear resistance, so a single face does the job.
Can I fit TTD-3 teeth to an A4 bit?
No. The A4 uses a flat bladed tooth in a different pocket profile — TS-1 or TS-3. The tooth families are not interchangeable between the A and RC ranges.
When should I replace it?
When the cutting edge has rounded off, when penetration slows for the same down-pressure, or when the drive is working noticeably harder for the same hole. Past that point wear transfers into the auger head itself, and the head is not a replaceable part.
Can I mix tooth types on one head?
Not advisable. Mixed teeth wear at different rates and sit at slightly different heights, which loads some pockets harder than others and leaves a rougher hole. Run a matched set and replace them together.
Is a retaining pin included?
No. The TruLoc single pin, part number WP-000271, is a separate item. Keep spares — the pin is usually what goes missing during a change in the field.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping is calculated at checkout — add the item to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the shipping charge is shown before you complete your order. Lift gate service is available for residential deliveries and can be selected at checkout.
How do I order?
Add the item to your cart and check out online — the order page asks for your machine make and model, so there is no need to call ahead. We check the mount against your machine after the order and come back to you if anything needs changing. If you would rather ask first, email support@eskidsteer.com or use the chat button on your screen.
The TTD-3 is searched for as rock auger bit, as an skid steer auger bit, and by crews looking specifically for auger bit teeth to refresh a worn head. It sits alongside auger replacement parts and tungsten auger teeth in the same wear-part order. The TTD-3, like the rest of the range, is genuine digga auger tooling made in Dyersville, Iowa.
One thing to watch on a combination bit: the outer teeth wear faster in rock than the rest of the head does, so an RC4 that has spent a season in mixed ground often needs outers well before the inners or the pilot. Replacing just the TTD-3 ring restores the rock performance without a full set.
