About this product

Gentle scalp oil for new hair and a dry, flaky scalp. Newborn and up.

  • Light plant oils: Blackberry seed, avocado and rice bran oils sink in without a greasy feel.
  • A healthy-looking scalp: A few drops nourish dry, flaky spots and soften flakes so they lift.
  • Soft, shiny first curls: Rice bran oil leaves fine baby curls with a light, soft sheen.
  • Made by a mom, for her daughter: Courtney, a licensed esthetician, made it for Cristina. Every ingredient listed.

Who it's for

For newborns and babies with waves, curls or coils and a dry or flaky scalp, before or after the bath.

How to use

  1. Warm: Warm two or three drops between your palms.
  2. Massage: Massage into the scalp and through the hair. Leave it in.
  3. Loosen: On flaky days, oil 15 minutes before the bath, loosen flakes with a soft brush, then wash.

Tip: Start small. More oil won't lift more flakes; it just takes longer to wash out.

Baby hair oil for a dry, flaky scalp and new curls

For a newborn or baby with a dry, flaky scalp and fine new curls, the Cristina's Curls Nourishing Baby Hair and Scalp Oil is gentle care for the scalp: a few drops, warmed in your palms and massaged in before or after the bath.

Baby curls start at the scalp. In the first year a scalp can dry out and flake fast, and fine new hair loses moisture easily. This oil blends blackberry seed, avocado and rice bran oils with rosemary and olive leaf extracts. Avocado oil nourishes a dry scalp and rice bran oil leaves a light sheen on curls. On flaky days, a few drops before the bath soften flakes so they lift away in the wash. It's the oil in Courtney's cradle cap routine.

It works on waves, curls and coils, including biracial babies' hair. Two or three drops is enough for most babies. Courtney Smith, a mom and licensed esthetician, made the line for her daughter, Cristina, and more than 70,000 families now use it. For the full bath, pair it with the Nourishing Baby Wash and Shampoo and the Nourishing Baby Conditioner.
