About this product
What Makes the Shimano M70R2 Severe V-Brake Pad Stand Out?
The Shimano M70R2 Severe Condition V-Brake Pad is a cartridge-type insert for MTB, trekking, and cyclocross rim brakes. The M70R2 Severe pad is 1mm thicker than the standard M70R2, so there is more pad material to wear, and Shimano rates it higher than the standard M70R2 for durability in muddy conditions.
The M70R2 Severe is a cartridge-style replacement insert that fits into existing Shimano cartridge shoe holders already mounted on the brake arm. It fits Shimano's 70 mm cartridge V-brake shoe holders, the type that comes standard with M70R2 pads on XTR BR-M970 and BR-M960 and XT BR-M770. Shimano also lists it as an option for BR-R550. Each package includes one pair of cartridge inserts with fixing hardware. For aluminum rims only.
