About this product
Integrated Engineering's FDS front-mount intercooler is built to eliminate the heat soak that shows up on a tuned or big-turbo B8 A4 after repeated hard pulls. Where most intercoolers rely on natural airflow across the core, IE's Flow Distribution System uses precisely shaped fins cast into the intake plenum to push charge air evenly across the entire core, so the whole core does the cooling work rather than just the section directly in the airstream.
The larger core and FDS technology combine to lower pressure drop as well as intake air temperature, easing the load on the turbocharger and supporting bigger, more consistent power gains than the factory unit or a simple core swap.
Important Compatibility Information
Vehicles equipped with Audi's dynamic steering system route a cooling loop across the front of the radiator that blocks installation of this intercooler. IE does not officially support this application; the loop would need to be deleted or modified to fit the kit.
