About this product
📘 Overview
A wheel loader lifting hook rated at 22,000 or 30,000 lbs: the Haugen MFSH-22 and MFSH-30 are high capacity fork mounted swivel hooks for large forklifts and wheel loaders that slips onto the machine's existing tines. Larger fork pockets at 3-1/2" x 9-1/2" suit the heavier tine sections these machines carry, and pocket spacing runs from 22.50" to 42.00".
Like every Haugen fork-mounted hook, it holds the hook at 24" on centre.

Fitment for this forklift lifting hook is by tine section and spacing, not by machine brand. These are sized for the larger tines carried by big forklifts and wheel loaders — up to 3-1/2" thick by 9-1/2" wide, spaced anywhere from 22.50" to 42.00" apart.
If your tines are smaller than that, the standard MFSH range covers 6,000 to 14,000 lbs on 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" pockets. Measure the tines rather than guessing from machine size, since a hook whose pockets are oversized for the tine will not sit securely.
At 380 to 395 lbs empty, these weigh roughly two and a half times the standard range — worth accounting for before you add rigging and load.
📐 Why You Don't Need a New Load Chart
Every Haugen fork-mounted swivel hook holds the hook at 24" on centre — the same load centre forklifts are normally rated at. Because the hook sits where the machine's chart already assumes the load sits, your existing forklift load chart normally still applies, less the empty weight of the attachment, the rigging and the load itself. A separate down-rated load chart should not be needed.
That is a practical difference from a jib or a work platform, both of which move the load away from the carriage and require a down-rated chart from the machine manufacturer before use.
The hook's own rating is not the machine's rating. Total load must never exceed whichever is lower, and remember telehandler capacity falls as the boom extends.
⚠ Operating Rules — From Haugen's Manual
- Vertical lifting only. Never use it to pull or drag a load.
- Disable the carriage's hydraulic tilt and swing functions before lifting, and position the tines so the hook holds the load centred on the machine.
- Forks level or slightly rolled back — never tilted forward.
- Safety pins behind the heel of each fork, secured with the cotter pin. Pins are chained to the frame so they cannot be lost. Optional safety chains are an addition to the pins, never a substitute.
- Operator stays seated at the controls with the engine running for as long as a load is on the hook.
- Nobody within ten feet of the fall zone in any direction, and never any part of yourself under a suspended load. Hard hats and steel toe boots for anyone working nearby.
- Level, firm ground before raising. Carry loads low and use tag lines to stop them swinging.
- Never lift people. For personnel, use a certified work platform.
Before each use, check the hook, latch, bolt and sleeve for wear or distortion, look for cracked or broken welds, check the holes for elongation, and confirm the capacity and empty-weight decals are present and legible.
❓ Wheel Loader Lifting Hook FAQs
Will this fit my wheel loader?
If it runs pallet forks with tines up to 3-1/2" thick by 9-1/2" wide, spaced between 22.50" and 42.00", yes. Measure the tines — that is what decides fitment, not the machine's make or size.
Do I need a down-rated load chart?
Normally not. The hook is held at 24" on centre, the same load centre your machine is rated at, so the existing chart applies less the attachment, rigging and load weights. The hook's rating and the machine's rating are separate limits and you work to the lower.
What is Smart Hook technology?
Smart Hook is available on this attachment. For current details on what the option includes, support@eskidsteer.com can confirm with Haugen.
How does this forklift hook attachment differ from the standard MFSH range?
Capacity and pocket size. The standard range runs 6,000 to 14,000 lbs on 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" pockets with spacing to 36". These take 22,000 or 30,000 lbs on larger 3-1/2" x 9-1/2" pockets with spacing to 42", matching the tines big machines carry.
Can it lift personnel?
No — material only, and vertical lifting only. Never use it to pull a load, and never to lift people.
What certification does it carry?
Built to comply with ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 and CSA B335, tested and certified by a third-party Professional Engineer, with the engineering report supplied and the full report available on request.
What do these high capacity hooks weigh?
380 lbs for the MFSH-22 and 395 lbs for the MFSH-30 — roughly two and a half times the standard MFSH range, which is worth accounting for before adding rigging and load.
What should I check before each lift?
Inspect the hook, latch, bolt and sleeve for wear or distortion, confirm the retainer pins are secured with cotter pins, look for cracked or broken welds, check the holes for elongation, and make sure the capacity and empty-weight decals are legible.
