The GEL-KAYANO 12.1 is one of the better examples of ASICS remixing its own archive. The upper takes its cues from the GEL-KAYANO 12 from 2006, while the sole comes from the GEL-NIMBUS 17 — two different generations of ASICS Running in one very good-looking shoe.
Layered mesh and synthetic panels keep the mid-2000s technical feel intact, while dual GEL inserts and FLUIDRIDE cushioning make the hybrid considerably more comfortable than its archival appearance suggests.
