About this product
100% retail sell-through across Faire retailers.
This butterfly feels like a moment caught midair. Wings spread wide in saturated blues and inky blacks, touched with sunlit yellow and soft white markings, it hovers between stillness and motion. There is something quietly transportive about it, as if it drifted in from a 19th-century specimen drawer or an old naturalist’s notebook, preserved not out of curiosity alone, but out of reverence.
Handcrafted in our New York studio using the French tradition of découpage, this bent-glass tray layers the Blue Pansy butterfly beneath glass through a meticulous, time-honored process. The result is depth, permanence, and a gentle luminosity that brings the illustration to life. Each piece is individually signed by Ben and finished with a felted back, honoring both craft and care in equal measure. A folded card accompanies the tray, sharing the centuries-old technique behind its making.
Both practical and poetic, the tray is food-safe, wipe clean, and versatile enough to live wherever beauty is welcome. Style it on a tabletop, hang it with a plate hanger, or let it stand quietly on a gallery easel. Whether holding jewelry, notes, or nothing at all, it offers a sense of calm and wonder. A small object with presence, a reminder that nature has always been the most enduring muse.
