The factory flex plate behind your 1994-2007 Cummins is built from flimsy stamped steel as it was cost effective, and under normal driving conditions is perfectly fine. But, when succumbed to aggressive torque converters and higher power levels, it is known to twist and sheer. Either the power shreds the center and fails, or it comes apart entirely, risking injury or worse. BD Diesel's HI5 Flexplate meets SFI 29.3 approval for competition and performance, is built from forged billet steel for performance, reliability and carries a rating of 3,500lb-ft of torque.
