About this product
Angelus 2-Soft is a fabric medium that turns Angelus acrylic paint into a soft, flexible fabric paint for canvas shoes, denim, jackets, and clothes. Mix it into your paint and the fabric stays soft once it dries, instead of feeling like a screen print sitting on top.
It comes in 1 oz. and 4 oz. bottles. We've made Angelus products in Los Angeles since 1907.
Works on
- Canvas shoes and sock liners
- Denim jeans and jackets
- Hoodies, shirts, and other soft fabrics
Keep it off
On leather, use Angelus Paint on its own after deglazing. For plastic and metal, mix in Angelus 2-Hard instead.
How to use it
- Mix 2-Soft with Angelus Paint in a 1:1 ratio.
- Apply several coats until the coverage is full and even.
- Let the paint dry completely.
- Heat set the fabric with a heat gun at 300°F for 3 to 5 minutes. This step is required to activate 2-Soft.
What customers say
“Really works well mixed with the angelus paints for painting on fabrics, especially canvas shoes! The fabric doesn't get stiff, and I haven't had any problems with cracking paints.”
★★★★★ Brittany C., Phoenix, AZ
“I used 2 soft for painting on a denim jacket and it made the paint pliable and didn't effect the color or consistency. Great product!”
★★★★★ Jeremy W., Pinckney, MI
“I use 2-Soft with paint on neoprene because other conventional paints crack when stressed. 2-soft worked better than expected.”
★★★★★ Kristopher L., El Dorado, Trinidad and Tobago
Common questions
Do I have to heat set 2-Soft?
Yes. Heat setting at 300°F for 3 to 5 minutes activates the medium, so don't skip it.
Can I use Angelus paint as fabric paint for jeans?
Yes. Mix it 1:1 with 2-Soft, paint the denim, and heat set it once it's dry.
Do I need 2-Soft to paint canvas shoes?
No, but without it the paint feels more like a screen print than part of the shoe.
