Few sneakers belong to New York quite like the Air Force 1. For Fall/Winter 2026, Nike brings the Uptown back to the subway with the Air Force 1 ’01 “MTA MetroCard” AKA the “Subway Rat” (unofficially, of course).
The nickname comes from the tonal grey suede, a nod to the city’s most persistent subway resident. It’s also the first time we’ve seen suede used across this throwback ’01 version of the AF1. Hidden Nike NYC branding sits behind the tongue, while a MetroCard-inspired hangtag swaps the familiar transit graphics for Nike branding.
