About this product
A simple heart, rendered with intention. A Study of the Heart was found tucked inside an antique book discovered at a Paris flea market—an illustration meant not to decorate, but to observe. The bold red form, pierced cleanly by an arrow, feels both timeless and tender, a quiet reminder that love has always carried risk, devotion, and resolve.
Handcrafted in our New York City studio using the traditional French art of découpage, this bent-glass tray is made one at a time, layering archival imagery beneath glass and firing it into permanence. The surface glows softly, with subtle variations that make each piece feel collected rather than produced. Every tray is individually signed by Ben, anchoring it within his world of poetic, timeworn objects.
Beautiful yet practical, the tray is food safe, wipe clean, and finished with a felted back. Style it flat on a tabletop, display it upright on a gallery easel, or hang it with a plate hanger as a small work of art. Each piece arrives with a folded card explaining the centuries-old découpage process—a preserved moment from Paris, meant to live on.
