About this product
These 13x18mm flat oval abalone or paua shell beads come strung and ready to work with, offering that naturally iridescent shimmer you simply can't replicate with glass or acrylic.
The surface plays through the full spectrum of the shell's own iridescence — shifting greens, blues, and purples that change with every angle and light source.

What to make with them
Their flat oval shape sits beautifully as a focal or repeating element in statement necklaces and multi-strand designs, and the smooth profile makes them a strong choice for powwow regalia and dance pieces where movement and light interaction matter.
Natural materials vary in color, pattern, and size. The beads you receive may differ slightly from the product photos — this is a characteristic of natural materials, not a defect.
