Stepping up from the nine-inch oval, this 11 by 8 inch platter takes a full entree: a grilled fillet with its sides, a plated curry, or a mixed tempura order. The one-inch wall is a quarter inch taller than the small oval's, which is the difference between a sauce staying put and a sauce reaching the table linen.

Ovals read as more deliberate than rounds on a long table, and a dozen of them line up along a banquet run without the gaps circles leave. The body is melamine throughout, break-resistant, finished in the muted green tea tone Yoto is built around with the outer edge pulled to brown.
