Twelve inches across and an inch and a quarter deep, the UN-112 is the presentation round of the Universe coupe family: two and a quarter inches wider than the 9-3/4 inch plate and a quarter inch deeper than either of the two dinner sizes below it.

Kitchens use a plate this broad for a main with a spread garnish, a shared mezze setting, or a single dramatic centre with a lot of white space around it. The deeper wall holds a loose sauce that a flatter plate would let run off. Twelve to a case; a dozen is a full table's worth for a tasting menu.
