Twenty-eight ounces of soup spreads across a larger surface, which suits a dish whose garnish is meant to be seen, such as pho with its herbs floating, a poke bowl, or a wide bowl of udon.
The broader mouth also makes it easier to eat from with a flat-bottomed spoon than with chopsticks. Twelve ship in a carton. Within Ocean it is the bowl that reads most like a pasta bowl without actually being one.
