Five fluid ounces in a bowl an inch and a half deep. The proportions stay shallow enough to eat out of comfortably with a dessert spoon, but there is sufficient wall to hold syrup or dressing without it running over the edge on a moving tray.
Tan ages well in heavy service, since the surface scuffing that eventually dulls any melamine shows far less against a warm mid-tone. Standard loads are stewed fruit, rice pudding, soup garnishes and portioned salads. The quarter inch of extra wall over the four-ounce version is also enough to stop a dressing creeping over the lip when a tray is set down hard. Four dozen to the case.
