At 10-1/4 inches the MR-710 is the coupe dinner plate — the rimless counterpart to the MR-110, matching it in diameter and in its one-inch wall. Losing the rim gains usable surface, because plating can run closer to the edge before the blue band interrupts it.

That makes it the better choice where the food is the composition and the plate is background. It is the smaller of the two Mars coupe dinner plates, with the MR-711 a full inch wider for operations that want the larger canvas. Between the two, this is the size that still fits a standard cover without crowding the glassware.
