Moderne builds its dinnerware range on one shape, and the MO-106 is where that shape starts: a 6" x 4-1/2" triangle in matte white melamine, pressed almost flat with a quarter-inch lift at the rim. A wedge this shallow reads as a surface rather than a vessel, which is what makes it useful for a side salad, two slices of bread with butter, a cheese wedge or a petit four.
Because the triangle tapers, it tucks against a dinner setting at an angle that a round side plate cannot manage, and several can be fanned down a tasting counter without their edges fighting. Matte white hides the fine scratching that gloss melamine shows after a season of racking, and the surface takes sauce and crumb without glare under warm service lighting.
